mycelial.space

mycelial.space is a little experiment in expanding the “small web”. It’s a small collection of people making posts about whatever. Maybe it’s essays, maybe it’s a doodle, maybe it’s a song. There are no ads and we aren’t using a huge blogging platform. We don’t worry about SEO or hitting the top page of search engines, we’re just making stuff and sharing it because that’s a wonderful part of being human. There are no engagement metrics.

In general, we’re trying to capture a little more of that feeling of the old internet, before tech companies ate everything. We think that “sharing stuff and connecting on the internet is a bad idea” is the wrong lesson to learn from the failure of corporate social media. Each author on here can customize their own sub-site (hence why the home is rather minimal). It’s going to be a little rough around the edges, we’re going to have some first-time CSS and JavaScript users, but that’s all part of the fun, right?
